Absence on Water: A Poetry Reading by Michael Grodesky
Join us for an evening of poetry and discussion as Seattle poet Michael Grodesky reads from his chapbook Absence On Water recently released by Bottlecap Press. The poems explore how themes of absence and presence and other dialectics may play out in complex human experiences such as suicide and bullying. Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 from 6:30 to 7:30 at Hugo House in the Theater Lobby, followed by a signing. This is a FREE event. Michael Grodesky
Michael Grodesky is a poet and photographer whose second chapbook, Absence On Water, was recently released by Bottlecap Press. His poems have also appeared Cathexis Northwest, BlazeVOX, Stepping Stones and also in Urban Textures, a collection of photography and poetry published with his husband, photographer Jim Simandl. In 2021, he self-published his first chapbook Dissimilation. He lives in Seattle where he is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington.
