Melika Bokaie Book Launch

Please join Melika Bokaie for her book launch event here at the Hugo House!

During this event, the author will begin by introducing her book, sharing the story behind it, its main themes, and the writing journey. She will then proceed to have a short reading to give the audience a sense of the voice and atmosphere of the novel.

After that, the space will be open for a Q&A session, allowing for an open and engaging conversation. Finally, the event will conclude with a book signing and connecting personally with readers.

Book Summary:

A nineteen-year-old girl from Tehran, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a backpack full of questions, sets off on a journey to Konya to visit the resting place of Rumi. What begins as a simple pilgrimage soon becomes the spark for a deep inner transformation.

After Konya, an unexpected calling from South America leads her into the unknown. What was meant to be a three-month volunteer project in Ecuador turns into years of travel—through the Andes, the Amazon, the villages of Guatemala, and across the heart of Latin America, all the way to the shores of Mexico.

This is more than a travel memoir.

It is a story of awakening, of finding freedom and home in the most unexpected places. It’s about growing up, following your inner voice, and walking the path of dreams—even when the world says you can’t.
