Early Bird Pricing Dec. 2 through Dec. 16:

  • $10 off one-session classes
  • $20 off classes that are two to six sessions

The Architecture of Writing

Winston Churchill wrote: “We shape our buildings, and then our buildings shape us.” The same is true of writing. Your choice of narrative structure deeply impacts both your story and readers. This class will examine the subliminal effects of a variety of structures in both fiction and memoir—from chronological to flashbacks, dueling POVs to interconnected stories, collage and more. Bring a project in mind or on paper and get ready to play.

Erica Bauermeister

Erica Bauermeister is the bestselling author of four novels including The School of Essential Ingredients and The Scent Keeper. Bauermeister has a PhD in literature from UW and has taught there and at Antioch and numerous workshops. Her memoir-in-essays, House Lessons: Renovating a Life (Sasquatch Books), is forthcoming March 24.
