Hugo House Music Open Mic
Join us for Hugo House's first ever music-forward open mic night centered on original work only, no covers. This event brings together musicians, writers, and hybrid performers. With a limited lineup and a community-centered atmosphere, each performance is given space to be fully experienced. Whether you're performing or attending, expect a engaging evening centered on creativity, craft, and connection.

- Performance styles: Music, poetry, prose, or hybrid
- Audience seating: Maximum capacity is 80

Day-Of Sign-Ups
- Open at 6:00 PM (front desk)
- Close at 6:50 PM or when full
- First come, first served
Performance Guidelines
- 5-minute sets (includes setup + transitions)
- (Up to ~6 minutes max if needed)
- Solo artists or duos preferred
- Original work only, no covers
Performance Overview
- Keep it simple: No full bands, drum kits, loud electric setups, or backing tracks.
- Basic gear provided: Mics, DI boxes, stands, and limited accessoriesâbring small extras if needed.
- Quick sound checks only: Levels are set fast and wonât be adjusted during the show.
- Be ready: Prep offstage, keep setup minimal, and be ready when called or risk losing your spot.
- Strict timing: Sets are enforced with a warning; hosts may end performances if needed.
- Accessible setup available: Flexible mic options, seating support, and extra time on request.
- Be respectful: Follow guidelines and support fellow performers and the audience.

Daniel works in tech by day and loves to build mechanical keyboards and go to local keyboard meetups. He's also a musician, rapper and saxophone player who loves his wife, daughter and two cats.Â
Amy Truong
Amy is a hairstylist/toddler mom by day and musician/streamer by night. She is the co-founder of the first Vietnamese twitch team creating a space for gamers to also bond over their shared culture highlighting the Vietnamese diaspora.Â
