6 pm | Politics & Poetry
In a year when the first woman is running for the presidency, women poets Samar Abulhassan, Laura Da’, and Ann Teplick will read from their works and share poems from a radical female poet who inspires them. Hosted by Seattle Civic Poet Claudia Castro Luna.
7 pm | 2016 Jack Straw Writers
Featuring four writers from this year’s Jack Straw Writers Program: Casandra Lopez, Shin Yu Pai, Alison Stagner, and Shontina Vernon. Hosted by program curator Karen Finneyfrock.
8 pm | The Body Is a Map in any Language
Readings by Sam Roxas-Chua, Jordan Hartt, and Jamaica Baldwin. Hosted by Kristen Millares Young.
9 pm | The Comics Pages
Crosscut editors team up with actors from UW’s improv group for a satiric take at Seattle politics and society.
