Lit Crawl 2018 | An Evening with Richard Chiem, Rebecca Brown and JM

Start your Lit Crawl off right at Hugo House. Grab a drink and enjoy an evening with some of Seattle’s favorite and most prolific authors.

Your Authors:

Rebecca Brown is the author of a dozen books of prose and sort of prose, a play, a dance opera and popular arts criticism. Her work is widely translated. She has been making cut ‘n’ paste books for years (long before they were called ‘erasures’) and was the first writer in residence at Hugo House and co-creator and first curator of the Jack Straw Writers Program. Her new book, Not Heaven, Somewhere Else, is published by Tarpaulin Sky.

Richard Chiem is the author of You Private Person (Sorry House Classics, 2017) and the novel King of Joy (Soft Skull Press, 2019). His work has been published in City Arts Magazine, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Fanzine, 3:AM Magazine, and Moss Magazine, among many other places. His book You Private Person was named one of Publishers Weekly‘s 10 Essential Books of the American West. He lives in Seattle with his partner.

JM is a queer, Seattle-based writer who grew up touring the country as a resistant army brat. They have 2 published books and have taught creative writing at UW Tacoma for 7 years. Visit jm-poet.com to read some work.
