Peter Mountford Hosts Stage Fright: A Monthly Open Mic Night for Teens

Peter MountfordNovelist Peter Mountford hosts this month’s Stage Fright and reads from his second book, “Kamikaze.”

Stage Fright is an open mic night for writers in grades 8 through 12. Writers share poetry, fiction, journals and songs and enjoy the work and camaraderie of their peers. Snacks, candlelight and a fearless MC round out the evening. Sign up to read when you arrive.

About Peter Mountford
Peter Mountford’s short fiction has appeared in Best New American Voices 2008, Conjunctions, Michigan Quarterly Review, Seattle Review, Phoebe and Boston Review. He has also won or been shortlisted in contests at New Letters, Florida Review and Gulf Coast, and a story “Horizon” was named to the Best American Short Stories 2008 list of “100 Other Distinguished Stories of 2007.” Mountford graduated from the University of Washington’s MFA program in 2006, and is currently in his third year as a writer-in-residence for Seattle Arts and Lecture. His first novel, “A Young Man’s Guide to Late Capitalism,” will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2011.
