UW Castalia

Castalia is a monthly reading series featuring graduate students, faculty, and alumni from the University of Washington MFA program. Use the “Tickets” button above to register for the Zoom meeting. Readings begin at 7:30 pm.

Readers

Cass Garison is a poet, translator, and artist currently based in Seattle. They have work in Washington Square Review, River Styx, Foglifter, Muzzle magazine, and others. They’re part of the queer artists collective Eat Yr Manhood & are the poetry editor for Five South. They were the 2019 Frontier-Antioch fellow, and are an MFA student at the University of Washington.

Erin Strubbe is a writer and editor from Southern California. She holds a degree in English from Mills College, and her work has appeared in Daily Science Fiction and Five on the Fifth, as well as a few now-defunct undergraduate magazines. She loves writing about myth and magic, partly because she never quite grew out of believing in it. Erin is currently living in Seattle with her partner and two pet snakes.

Rachel Edelman is a Jewish poet raised in Memphis, Tennessee. A finalist for the 2020 National Poetry Series, her work has been published in the Threepenny Review, Wildness, Poetry Northwest, the Ploughshares blog, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Washington and a BA in English and geology from Amherst College. She teaches high school English in Seattle.

David Bosworth is a novelist, story writer, essayist, and cultural critic. His last book, Conscientious Thinking: Making Sense in an Age of Idiot Savants has just been republished in paperback.
