Anca Szilágyi

Anca L. Szilágyi is the author of Daughters of the Air, a novel which Shelf Awareness called “a striking debut from a writer to watch” and which The Seattle Review of Books called “a creation of unearthly talents.”  Her short fiction appears in Lilith MagazineConfrontationFairy Tale Review, and elsewhere. Her nonfiction appears in Los Angeles Review of BooksElectric Literature, and Salon, among other publications. She was awarded the inaugural Artist Trust / LaSalle Storyteller Award, an inaugural Made at Hugo House fellowship, a 4Culture grant, a Jack Straw fellowship, and a Vermont Studio Center residency. She holds an MFA from the University of Washington and an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University. She has taught at Hugo House since 2012, and has also taught at Pace University, University of Washington, and online at Southern New Hampshire University’s MA in English and Creative Writing.
