Audio/Visual Storytelling Scribes, 7-8th grade
In this multisensory camp, students will continue to explore genres of writing like Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Poetry, and others while also expanding their storytelling repertoire by engaging with new storytelling formats meant to enhance the experience. These range from comics to podcasts and animation. Students will participate in writing activities, craft exercises, and experiences designed to inspire their imaginations. This camp will be led by two local artists: Corinne Manning and Meredith Arena, both of whom are published writers and educators; it will also feature guest teaching artists. This camp will culminate with a performance of student work and the option for students to contribute a chosen piece to a digital anthology of their work.
This camp is for students entering 7th & 8th grade in Fall 2021 and will take place online using Zoom and Google Classroom. All camps will break for lunch from 12-1pm each day.
Scholarships are available by application. Questions? Please email keliko@hugohouse.org.
