Believable Characters in YA and Middle-Grade Novels [Karen Finneyfrock]
Characters in novels must feel like complex, unique individuals while also serving as archetypal players within the story’s plot. With the class, you’ll delve into the tension between protagonist and antagonist, the roles of minor characters, and how characters reveal themselves through scene. We will get to know our characters through both in-class exercises and homework. This class will work for a novelist at any stage of creation, and every student can expect one session of feedback during the class.
