All Levels | In this jam-packed excursion into novel architecture, we’ll look at four short novels—Baldwin’s Giovanni’s Room, Didion’s Play It As It Lays, Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, and Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House—and think about how to apply them as basic models for structuring a novel. You do not need to have read all of these works, though familiarity with them will be helpful; the instructor will provide the materials necessary for the class.
