The Novel You Want to Write Vs. the Novel You Need to Write [EJ Koh]
This is a class of generative exercises that move beyond literary device, voice, and style. The heart of craftsmanship lies in vulnerability, which means asking the tough questions: Why writing? Why you? Students will be expected to bring courage, veracity, and resolve. They will leave the class not only with a clearer focus of their subject matter, but also with the beginning of a novel and a set plan for its completion. Students will be required to read work out loud in class and bring revisions. Beginners welcome.
