Online Class | The Essay and The Book: Building A Path for Your Manuscript [Katherine Standefer]
Intermediate / Advanced | Strategically publishing essays can generate interest in a book project, helping writers land an agent, sign a book deal, or sell books. But how do we build strong excerpts from memoirs-in-progress? What related essays might we write that establish our expertise? Where should we publish? In this workshop, writers compare the memoir openings of authors like Francisco Cantú and Cheryl Strayed with the short-form works they published along the way. Writers will submit one essay of their own for feedback.
This class takes place online via Wet Ink, and sessions can be done at your own pace throughout the week. An invitation to the class will be emailed to students when class begins.
