Plotting: Soup to Nuts [Paul Mullin]
Intermediate | This class will provide an overview of plotting, beginning with the basic “soup stock” of narrative, using index cards and outlines to work up a story. Then we will learn techniques for troubleshooting and plot-doctoring. Eventually the class will venture into more “nuts” ways of telling stories, with techniques departing wildly from those suggested by Aristotle in his long shadow-casting Poetics. We will attempt backward stories, plot palindromes, sonatas, fugues, engines, and clocks.
