Sci-Fi and Fantasy Scribes, 7-8th grade

This camp is full! We have another section of Creative Writing Scribes, with an emphasis on Sci-Fi & Fantasy, for 7-8th Grade that takes place July 12-16th.

Students in this camp will explore the worlds of science fiction and fantasy in order to develop their creative writing skills. Students will read a wide variety of work from carefully curated authors and will participate in writing activities, craft exercises, and experiences designed to inspire their imaginations. This camp will be facilitated by two local artists: Karen Finneyfrock is a poet, novelist, and educator, and Courtney Bird is a published writer and educator; it will also feature guest teaching artists. This camp will culminate with a presentation of student work and the option for students to contribute a chosen piece to a digital anthology of their work.

This camp is for students entering 7th & 8th grade in Fall 2021 and will take place online using Zoom and Google Classroom. All camps will break for lunch from 12-1pm each day.

Scholarships are available by application. Questions? Please email keliko@hugohouse.org.
