Creative Writing Scribes GRADES 9-12

Time: - - - PT
Capacity: seat
Explore the elements of poetry and prose in this two-week camp. We’ll take a “virtual field trip” to Northwest Film Forum and then make our own video poems, travel through our screens to Frida Khalo’s house and an underground cave, and re-imagine our own spaces. Our writing will range to fantasy, poetry of witness, and erasure poems. Guest visits from literary luminaries Reagan Jackson, Chelsea Werner-Jatzke, and Angel Nafis will embolden our work. Come join us for a truly special two-week experience, build community and create. All skill levels welcome.

This camp will be held online using a combination of Zoom and Google Classroom.

Full tuition for this camp is $750

90% tuition is $675

60% tuition is $450

30% tuition is $225

If you’d like to pay on the sliding scale, or make a donation for another student to attend Scribes, please call 206-322-7030 or email youth@hugohouse.org to register. Full scholarships are also available by application.

To help provide financial accessibility to our class offerings, some classes each quarter are offered with a sliding-scale tuition model, allowing students to pay what they can for the class. For these classes, tuition increments starting at $5 and going up to 125% of the standard pricing will be listed on the page.

To request a refund, log in to your account, go to “My Account,” select the “Orders” tab on the left-hand side, click the appropriate order, and request a refund for your specific class. Administrative fees apply. Please see our full refund policy here.
