Spiritual Memoir [Cameron Dezen Hammon]
Wendell Berry writes, “The significance (and ultimately the quality) of the work we do is determined by our understanding of the story in which we are taking part.” As writers interested in spirituality, we understand ourselves to be taking part in a story that connects us not only to one another, but also to the divine as we understand it and to the awe-inspiring natural world in which we live. We’ll look at how the numinous informs our stories, and using the personal essay as form, we’ll generate new writing that seeks to wrestle with the great mysteries of being a person in the world.
