The Building Blocks of Narrative [Irene Keliher]

How do we make our stories compelling? What makes a good story “tick”? This course will help you lay the foundation for a strong short story or personal essay. From character to plot to point-of-view, each class explores a different, essential building block of narrative. Guided by engaging writing prompts and readings from a diverse mix of writers including Anne Lamott and Junot Diaz, you’ll generate plenty of raw material. You’ll also set writing goals and give and receive feedback in a supportive environment. Beginners welcome.
