The Joy of Writing Animals [Caitlin Scarano]
All Levels | David P. Barash writes, “There isn’t a human society on Earth . . . that doesn’t concern itself with animal imagery.” In this class, we’ll focus on the philosophy, process, complexity, and joy of writing about non-human animals. Why write about animals in our creative work? How do we write animals well? What are the ethics involved? Students will discuss texts, get writing prompts, and have the option to share their creative work. *Please note, this is not a children’s literature course.
