The Poetry of Necessity [Kevin Young]

In this class, we will examine forms, from odes to elegies, as a way of finding our own poetry’s necessary utterance. We will also start a new poem (or two). Students may want to look at or bring my anthology The Art Of Losing: Poems of Grief & Healing for examples of elegy and lasting tribute.
