Voice Driven Narratives [John Englehardt]
All Levels | How can voice—a narrator’s speech patterns, vocabulary, and degree of awareness—be the main source of conflict and tension, rather than action and plot? Through discussion and writing exercises, we’ll explore the technique behind crafting a narrator that is authoritative, vulnerable, conversational, or absurd. Authors we’ll study include Jackson, July, Orange, Johnson, and Sycamore.
