Instructor: Kristi Coulter. This generative class explores techniques for writing vividly, precisely, and relatably about the music we love (or hate, or love to hate).

Instructor: Liza Birnbaum. This class will examine Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse in conversation with Shirley Hazzard's The Transit of Venus, particularly in respect to character arcs, politics, and sentence-level syntax.

Instructor: Jennifer Perrine. This generative class will read nature-centered poetry, essays, and fiction by Black, Indigenous, Asian American, and Latine writers. With writing prompts derived from forest bathing, bird noticing, and more.

Instructor: Tina Tocco. This generative class offers a low-stress, supportive environment for those eager to experiment with fiction writing, with imaginative prompts such as music, sounds, images, and more.

Instructor: Gabriela Denise Frank. In this generative course, we’ll experiment with different models and create image/text hybrids, concrete poems, and docupoetic essays. 

Instructor: Lish McBride. Learn to write your own take on classic tales and creatures in this class includes lecture, generative writing, peer feedback, craft discussion, and more.

Instructor: Aimee Suzara. This class is inspired by the anthology Revolutionary Mothering: Love on the Front Lines. We will read, discuss, and write at the intersections of identity, race, class, gender, sexual orientation, and more.

Instructor: Marguerite Harrold. In this class, we will explore the ways in which people of color write about the natural world, including relationships to the land, traditional cultural practices, herbal healing, and more.

Instructor: Anca Szilágyi. Building upon craft lessons from Fiction I, this generative class will dive into point of view, scene construction, and dialogue; with workshops, in-class reading, and more.

Instructor: Greg November. This generative one-day workshop is all about learning how to create credible weirdness in fiction.

Instructor: Noah Zanella. This generative seminar examines the various relationships between language, beauty, and truth, responding to questions such as, "Can beauty save us?", and "Is the truth beautiful?."

Instructor: April Dávila. Explore each of the elements of a scene (setting, plot, character, point of view, and prose) by studying the work of award-winning writers and practicing with writing prompts.

Instructor: Wendy Kendall. Learn and practice the art of creating different types of hooks and understand how they work in story structure and marketing.

Instructor: Meghan Lamb. This course will examine body-centered prose and explore the merits of engaging deeply with illness, bodily change, and bodily difference.

Instructor: Lauren Davis. In this generative poetry workshop, participants will write love poems to the self.

Instructor: Danielle Mohlman. This lively and imaginative class is perfect for adventurous writers working on their first play. Examine scenes from contemporary plays and explore topics like character, dialogue, plot, worldbuilding, and more!

Instructor: Molly Schaeffer. Looking at a range of work that combines writing and visual art, we will challenge the idea of the book while also creating and discussing our process, investigating alternative forms such as chapbooks, artist books, zines, and more.

Instructor: Anastacia-Reneé. This generative class will explore the work of poets from Furious Flower, the nation's first academic center for Black poetry, engaging with each poet's voice, interrogating format and structure, and much more.

Instructor: Naa Akua. In this class, we will set our intentions to engage love as a "practice," through writing epistolary poems, journal prompts, and mini memoirs.

Instructor: Theo Nestor. This memoir intensive includes craft lessons on scene, narrative modes, structure and more with in-class writing prompts and Q&A portion.

Instructor: Kimberly Lee. This class will investigate the narratives that go beyond the traditional hero's journey—the heroine's journey, the journey of integrity, the seeker's journey, the healing journey, and others—through their appearance in literature, film, poetry and more!
