30/30 Kick-Off
“One simple thing about writing: it is like shooting a basketball. You’ve got to stay in shape and practice to do it well.” –Richard Hugo
30/30 is a write-a-thon designed to help you build a regular writing practice while raising money through pledges for Hugo House. Last year, our daily writing brought $22,615 of support to Hugo House and its programs—thank you!
If you’re new to 30/30, or you’ve participated in the past and are up for the challenge again, we welcome you to come to one of two 30-minute sessions we’re hosting here at the House to kick off the fundraiser.
The first session will start at 6:30 pm; the later session at 7:15 pm. We’ll cover:
- How to create a FirstGiving page and use the FirstGiving platform. Though not required, we encourage you to bring a tablet or laptop and you can set up your own page during the walkthrough.
- Tips for successful fundraising
- How to stay motivated during the 30-day challenge
